Natural Treasures
The entire island is a Wildlife Sanctuary. Our natural treasures include loggerhead turtles which steal ashore at night from May to August to nest. Dolphins often can be sighted from the Fripp bridge and the 18th hole of Ocean Point Golf Links. Fripp's wildlife population includes deer, raccoons and alligators. Birds include osprey, heron and egrets. The Audubon Club maintains a trail to view wildlife, plants and birds.
The Resort
Fripp Island Resort is the rental management division for Fripp Island. Many owners now rent their vacation homes and villas through the Resort. The number of homes in the Resort's inventory grows steadily as more home buyers learn about the group's successful rental program and its potential to offset ownership costs.
Resort lodging options range from one-bedroom villas to large beachfront homes. Rental units are marketed aggressively to individuals and groups. Expanded meeting facilities and added golf choices are helping Fripp Island Resort efforts to capture added group business.
The Club
The private Fripp Island Club's facilities include restaurants; recreation complexes with pools, playgrounds and courts for volleyball, basketball and croquet; two golf courses; a tennis complex, and the marina. Facilities are open to Club members, their guests, and Resort guests. Social, Racquet Club and Full memberships are offered. Members pay a one-time initiation fee and annual dues. A year-round recreation staff helps plan festive holiday celebrations and social gatherings for members. Club newsletters keep members posted on activities.
Swimming Pools
The Fripp Island Club alone boasts nine sparkling pools. The Cabana Club offers multiple choices-a magical lagoon-style pool with waterfalls, cascading flowers, islands and caves, an oval pool and a kids' pool with an alligator slide. The oval pool is heated for winter play.
The Beach Club's seaside offerings include an Olympic pool, an adult pool reserved for the quiet enjoyment of the age 20 and-over set, and a baby pool. Ocean Point has two pools of its own, including one for babies. Five communities have private pools for homeowners in their neighborhoods.
Marina
Strategically located on deep-water, Fripp Island Marina lies just two miles from the Atlantic and offers convenient access to hundreds of square miles of Low Country marsh and creeks. Marine services include boat ramp, dockage, boat storage and repair. Gasoline and oil are offered for boats and automobiles.
Fishing
Fishing, crabbing and shrimping are superb in the inlets and waters that surround Fripp Island. There are seasons for oysters and clams, which should be gathered in designated areas only. The Marina can provide complete information on licensing, regulations and minimum sizes for catches.
Rentals and Cruises
Golf carts, mopeds, bicycles, motor boats, kayaks and personal watercraft can be rented at the Marina through Island Excursions. Island Excursions also books fishing charters and many types of cruises.

Mango's - A new boutique featuring unique gifts and apparel with flare, plus a wonderful selection of jewelry.
Personal Care - Hair and beauty salon.
Olympic Pool Village by The Beach Club
The Fripp Ship - Official logo store. Carries a variety of gift items, T-shirts, beach towels, hats, visors and more. UPS service available.
Marina Store - Deli, convenience items and marine, fishing and boating supplies, including tackle and bait.
Fully-stocked pro shops are located at both golf course Clubhouses and The Racquet Club.
Bike Trails
Fripp Island has an extensive leisure trail system that winds through the property. These trails are ideal for bicycling, jogging, walking and roller blading.
Tennis
The Fripp Island Racquet Club offers year-round play on eight soft, fast-dry courts and two hard-surface courts lighted for night play. The fully landscaped, screened courts offer shaded viewing and rest areas. Clinics, group and private lessons are offered to adults and juniors by our USTPA pro. Leagues, inter-club contests, social mixers and tournaments keep Club members active throughout the year. The pro shop offers apparel, equipment, racket stringing and other services.
Dining
Fripp Island's varied restaurants and lounges are geared to fit any mood. The island now has multiple restaurants. The Beach Club Restaurant is at the center of the island. Bonito Boathouse Restaurant & Lounge is located at the Marina. Hugo's Cafe & Deli is inside the Ocean Point clubhouse, and the 19th Hole is at the Ocean Creek Clubhouse. Seasonal dining additions include Island Supreme in The Beach Club recreation complex, and Sandals at The Cabana Club. |

Recreation Department
A Recreation Department expands the island's leisure options, offering interpretive beach walks, a sea turtle education program, crabbing excursions and guided bicycle and kayak tours. It also helps plan and coordinate special events for holidays. Rent golf carts, scooters or bicycles to get around the island or a wave runner to see Fripp Island from the water. In summer, it offers Camp Fripp nature day camps and Kids' Night Out programs for children. Special teen nights are a popular part of the summer program, too.
The Fripp Community
Fripp Island has a year-round population of about 850 people. Though many choose Fripp Island as a place to retire, year-round residents include families with school age children. Second homeowners, who will visit as often as they can, add another dimension. This mix adds diversity and vitality to the Fripp Island community.
Exciting new neighborhoods are unfolding on Fripp Island as development of the long awaited "Sweetgrass" subdivision has begun. This new community fits within a low-density master plan designed to preserve and protect the island's serenity and natural beauty. Individuals own about 1,850 Fripp Island properties. About 900 of these are single-family homes, while about 350 are villas. More than 750 people have invested in home sites for the future.
Chapel/Community Centre
The All-Faiths Chapel and Community Centre is open to islanders. The Chapel holds nondenominational vespers services at 5:30 PM each Wednesday. The Community Centre is a meeting site for many clubs and activities.

Volunteers
Volunteers provide many valuable services to fellow islanders. While the fire station has a professional chief, most of Fripp's firefighters are volunteers. First responders, under the chief's command are trained to provide emergency care until Fripp's Emergency Medical Services, (EMS) team arrives. Volunteers also operate Fripp Island Sea Rescue.
Island Security
The entire island falls within the bounds of a single private community. The only road onto the island passes by a security gate that is staffed 24 hours a day. The security staff also patrols the island.
Schools & Hospitals
Fripp is served by public schools and private academies on nearby islands. School buses provide transportation for children enrolled in public schools. Beaufort Memorial Hospital is a fully-accredited 182-bed hospital with 120 Board Certified or Board Eligible physicians on staff. It offers many outpatient services as well as hospital care.
